  • Stand in front of a mirror and use your measuring tape or ruler to measure the distance between the widest points of your face (just above your cheekbones).
  • Record the measurement in millimetres (mm) - most glasses dimensions are listed in mm. If your measuring tape or ruler does not measure in mm, you can use an online converter.

Step 2: Determine Your Bridge Width

The bridge width is the distance between the lenses that sits on your nose. To measure, start by:

  • Placing the tape across the bridge of your nose, where your glasses would sit comfortably.
  • Look for a snug but not tight fit; too wide will cause slipping, and too narrow can pinch your temples uncomfortably.

Step 3: Measure Your Temple (Arm) Length

The temple length is the length of the spectacles' arms that rest over your ears. While most standard sizes work for many people, measuring can ensure your comfort:

  • Use the measuring tape to measure from the hinge of your frame (where your frame meets the arm) to the point where it curves behind your ear.

Step 4: Find Your Lens Width and Height

Lens width and heigh influence both function and style. To measure your lens:

  • Measure the horizontal width of one lens, as well as the vertical height.
  • These measurements help determine if the lenses will provide adequate coverage for your eyes and suit your face shape.
